With an emphasis on girly-girl hues, movement, soft textures and vivacious spirit, Eyeball’s designers did their part to bring some sass to the blushing world of feminine hygiene products. And I, through this pitch, did my part to bring whirling girls, pink swirls and Gentle Glide’s all-new, super-absorbent anti-leak core into your living room.

Targeting “middle America,” these commercial concepts all feature familiar Applebee’s branding elements, juicy food shots and couples sharing cozy meals at their favorite neighborhood hangout. The overall idea was to create a sense of emotional connection between the viewer and the Applebee’s brand. My job was to translate lofty (and sometimes convoluted) design concepts into a simple narrative that would playfully walk the reader through each story.

DeVry is an accredited educational institution but, like the University of Phoenix, is not quite taken seriously as higher education or perceived as a legitimate university. After consulting with Eyeball’s creative director and members of the design team on this project, I laid out Eyeball’s plan to reposition DeVry and elevate this brand to a new level of respectability.
